Ornate Butterfly Fish feed on coral polyps so natural coral reefs are the most favorable spot to catch a glimpse of this fish while snorkeling. This fish’s distinctive markings include magnificent black and yellow bars on its face and a shiny gray patch on its forehead. Ornate Butterflys can grow up to eight inches but most are five to six inches in length. You can easily recognize the Ornate Butterfly by the six orange diagonal stripes on either side of its body.
